TDPS Spring 2014 Graduation


Event Attributes


THE TDPS commencement ceremony -  Friday, May 23 at 9:30 am in the Kay Theatre will last approximately 1.5 hours. There is no limit to the number of guests and tickets are not required. Please ask your guests to arrive early to find parking and to ensure they are on time for the ceremony.

Directions Parking

Parking will be free and available on campus the day of the ceremony.  The most convenient parking structure is the Stadium Garage directly across from the Center.  There is a drop-off loop adjacent to the Center’s front doors.

If you require special transportation assistance on campus, please make arrangements by calling the Office of Special Events at 301.405.4638.

Graduate Assembly

Graduates should arrive between 8:30 AM and  9:00AM for robing and lineup in the Choreography Studio (Room 1611).  Coat racks will be available in the Choreography Studio, and the door will be locked during the ceremony, though no one will be available to watch any personal items left in the space.  All personal items must be removed from the Studio by 11:00 AM.


Regalia is required for both the departmental and University ceremonies.  You are responsible for obtaining your own graduation regalia.  You may order your graduation regalia and commemorative accessories in the University Book Center, located in the Stamp Student Union, or by phone. 


A special reception for graduates and their families hosted by Director of TDPS, Leigh Wilson Smiley will be held in the Kogod Theatre immediately following the ceremony.  Light refreshments will be provided.
