Join us for Gianina Lockley and Mustapha Braimah's IPCCR final report, "Examining Issues of Social Justice through Movement and Dance: A Case Study of Students at the University of Ghana and University of Maryland, College Park."
Funded by the International Program for Creative Collaboration and Research, Gianina K. Lockley, second-year doctoral student in Theatre and Performance studies and MFA Dance alumnus, Mustapha Braimah '18, explore the ways in which Ghanaian and American dance students embody concepts of social justice through movement and dance. This project aims to foster cross-cultural dialogue between the students of The School of Performing Arts at the University of Ghana and the School of Theatre, Dance and Performance Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park. Through a series of workshops, students discuss challenges within our current political and social climate and devise a piece to be publicly performed.
