Austin Blake Conlee is in his first year at UMD, designing Hamlet Replayed. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Memphis in Technical Theatre & Design. Austin has worked at a variety of theatrical venues all across the country including the Utah Shakespeare Festival, Ohio Light Opera, Stagedoor Manor, Emory & Henry College, Playhouse on the Square, Porthouse Theatre, the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music, Hattiloo, and the Tennessee Shakespeare Company. Austin enjoys designing costumes for theatre, dance, and opera as well as building and styling wigs, draping and constructing garments, and creating artistic pieces that not only express ideas but convey strong choice and character. Some of Austin’s favorite costume designs include Cosi Fan Tutte, Little Shop of Horrors, A Streetcar Named Desire, Hamlet, Nine, MacBeth, The Glass Menagerie, Sunset Baby, and Eurydice.
