Kristina (Krissy) Harris is a Brooklyn-based dance artist. She has worked as an adjunct professor at Adelphi University for the past 3 semesters, teaching the BFA Dance majors improvisation and composition courses. She is also a faculty member at Berest Dance Center, where she teaches ballet technique, contemporary, improvisation, repertory and hip hop classes to ages 11-18 years. Krissy is a company member with TYKE Dance Company/Sophie Sotsky, and has performed and worked with: Britney Falcon/Falcon Dance Company, Stephanie Saywell, Amanda Hinchey & Dancers, Sarah Lass, DANCIFY That!, Chris Ferris & Dancers, Deborah Lohse, Suzan Polat and Sukalyann D. Entourage. Krissy choreographs through her platform Krissy and the Works and her alter- ego persona, Tammy. Her work has been shown at Gibney Dance Center’s I <3 GDC Festival and ShowDown Series, Dixon Place, the Built on Stilts Festival, Triskelion Arts’ Comedy in Dance Festival, WAXworks, the NACHMO series at Mark Morris Dance Center and the Actors Fund Arts Center, Alchemical Theatre Laboratory, and Movement Research Open Performance. Krissy’s dance roots stem from Lithuanian folk dance, hip hop and break dancing, with her formal and undergrad training in Graham technique, Paul Taylor style and classical ballet. Her continued study is grounded in release technique, dance improvisation and postmodern dance practices. Krissy graduated in 2013 from Adelphi University’s BFA Dance program.
