Rose (Xinran) Qi

Rose Xinran Qi is a dancer, choreographer, and teaching artist. She has performed more than 400 times nationally and internationally and is currently a dancer and choreographer at Xing Dance Theater. She began professional dance training in ballet and Chinese classical dance at age fifteen and holds a BFA in dance from Shanxi Academy of Arts. From 2008-13, she was a member of the Huajin Dance Drama Ensemble. She performed as a dancer in the productions Forbidden Fruit Under the Great Wall and Opera Warriors that toured over 100 cities including the China Greater National Theatre in Beijing, the Shanghai Greater Theatre, Sydney Opera House, and the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. From 2015-18, Ms. Qi performed in several UMD productions including Fall MFA Dance Thesis Concert 2015 entitled Nyam chiem; Faculty Dance Concert 2015 entitled Rapture; Fall MFA Dance Thesis Concert 2017 entitled Shook; and the Spring MFA Dance Thesis Concert 2018 entitled Equinox and Solstice, Accepting the Real, Memory, Another Side of You, Parks of Roses, and See below the Surface.
