TDPS Artist-in-Residence and puppeteer Robin Frohardt is featured in UMD's Terp Magazine for her work with students. Through innovative work like her recent "Dumpster Monster" at the NextNOW Festival in 2015, Frohardt taught her students how puppetry as an art form can be used not only for light-hearted entertainment for children, but also to explore serious social issues. Mention is also made of her 2013 play "The Pigeoning" and her upcoming Plastic Bag Store, set to debut in 2017.

TDPS Director Leigh Smiley says of Frohardt's work:

“She’s helping students stimulate their imaginations by breathing life into inanimate objects,” Smiley says. “In our everyday life we’ve lost our childlike imaginations, and what her puppets bring back is that magic.”
