In the Theatre major, mandatory advising each semester provides students with the opportunity to build a relationship with their advisor for the purpose of gaining assistance in planning their educational career, learning the skills needed for academic success, and in learning how to access the variety of resources and services available to them on the Maryland campus.

Book an appointment with UMD School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies using SetMoreto schedule an advising appointment. Also, see Registration Instructions.

Program News

On Friday, February 10 we celebrated Randy Lord and Steve Fessler’s generous gift to the UMD School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies (TDPS).

Congratulations to everyone in the TDPS family—faculty, students, and alumni—who was nominated for a 2017 Helen Hayes Award! We are doing extraordinary work in the DC theatre scene!

Check out this article on Howlround about TDPS' international collaboration with the Kennedy Center's Theater for Young Audiences for last year's New Visions/New Voices festival.
