Education/Training:

CMA, Laban/Bartenieff Institute for Movement Studies, 1990; M.ED in dance, Wayne State University, 1969; B.A. in English, Ohio State University, 1966; formative professional training with Jose Limon, Lucas Hoving, Betty Jones, Ruth Currier, Martha Graham, David Wood, Yuriko, Ethel Winters, Carolyn Brown, and Alfredo Corvino.   Training through the advanced level in Labanotation.  Feldenkrais studies with Donna Blank.

Professional Affiliations:

Fellow in the Academy for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (AETL), WACMA, LIMS, University Honors Program

Representative Productions:

Associate Director of Maryland Dance Theater. Toured with the company as a principal dancer, choreographer, and rehearsal director in over 400 performances throughout the Mid-Atlantic States, 1972-1988.  Performances were supported by the Maryland Arts Council, the University of Maryland, and National Endowment for the Arts, including tours with additional support from the NEA and the Mid-Atlantic Arts Consortium.

Honors and Awards:

Arts Achievement Award in Dance from Wayne State University, 1987; co-recipient with Larry Warren of the 1986 award "Outstanding Service to Dance in Maryland" from the Maryland Council for Dance and the 2000-2001 Pola Nirenska Lifetime Achievement Award in Dance presented by the Washington Performing Arts Society, CTE/Lilly Teaching Fellow, named as faculty mentor by two Merrill Scholars, honored as an outstanding teacher in Celebrating Teachers 2004.
