Hailey LaRoe
Hailey LaRoe (she/ her) is a first year MFA student studying Lighting and Projections design for live theatre and performance. Hailey has spent the last 7 years as a working theatre professional in the DC area and beyond (as a designer for the last 4 years). She works on a wide variety of projects including plays, new works, musicals, Theatre for young audiences, dance, and experiential installations, across a wide range of different types of performance venues. Hailey is excited to form new artistic partnerships and to expand her personal knowledge and artistic growth as an MFA candidate at UMD.
Hailey received a Helen Hayes Award in 2025 for Outstanding Lighting Design (Helen) for her work on Las Hermanas Palacios, and she is a 4 time Helen Hayes nominee for Outstanding Projection Design (Helen). Examples of her work can be found on her website Haileylaroedesigns.com
When Hailey isn’t working on a show, she enjoys spending time in nature, hiking, climbing, and walking her dog in particular.
