Javier Padilla

Javier Padilla is a contemporary movement artist originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico. Training under Waldo Gonzalez and Olaya Muentes, Javi continued to pursue his dance education at Rutgers University completing his B.F.A. in dance. Javi's choreographic work presented under The Movement Playground has been presented at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, The Theater at Gibney Dance, Peridance Capezio Center, Dixon Place, The Jack Crystal Theater at NYU Tisch Dance, and the Inside/Out Stage at Jacob's Pillow. Javi is a two-time awardee of a CUNY Dance Initiative Residency with Hostos College and Hostos Center for the Arts and Culture in the Bronx, the New Jersey Emerging Choreographer for 2017 through Dance on the Lawn Montclair, Toscana Dance Hub's Emerging Choreographer and Audience Choice Awardee, and has been on guest faculty and artist in residence at Bucknell University and West Chester Univeristy.
