Zoe Walders
Zoe Cushman Walders (she/her) is an MFA Dance candidate at the University of Maryland. Originally from Rochester, NY, she received her BA in Dance from SUNY Potsdam. Most recently, she performed Kendra Portier’s All Tomorrows: A Pantone (2024) at Dance Place in Washington, DC and Brit Falcon/Falcon Dance’s track (2024) at Arts On Site in New York City. Additionally, she has performed works by Adriane Fang, Rebecca Steinberg, Mariah Maloney, Frazee Feet Dance, Create A Space NOW, and PUSH Physical Theater. She was the recipient of the 2023 Dance Force NYS Choreographer’s Initiative grant and presented her research at the 2023 NYS Dance Force annual summit in Ithaca, NY. This year she presented two new works Upwelling (2025) and Haven’t Been There Yet (2025) at Arts on Site (NYC). She was selected to create a new work, Delta Blue (2024) for The Experimental Performance Series at The University of Maryland presented at The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center (MD). Other recent choreography credits include Jumpsuit Suite co-directed with Zachary Frazee as part of the Rochester KeyBank Fringe Festival, a returning artist at the 2023 Wake Forest Dance Festival, resetting her 2021 work En Route as a guest choreographer at her alma mater SUNY Potsdam, presenting Everything is Just a Little Bit Wrong as part of the Doug Varone Devices Choreographic Intensive, and her evening-length show Wild Gestures in the 2021 Rochester KeyBank Fringe Festival. In addition to her movement and choreographic projects, Zoe works as a freelance singer and an executive assistant for Urban Bush Women.
