Fall 2020 Auditions

School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies Monday, March 2, 2020 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm Cafritz Foundation Theatre

For the Fall 2020 semester, TDPS will be hosting a first round of auditions for both shows, Machinal and Orlando. Students will have the opportunity to strut their stuff for a panel of faculty members – including Scot Reese, Jennifer Barclay, Lisa Nathans and Leslie Felbain.

Monday, March 2nd | 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM | Cafrtiz (Rm. 2740)
Thursday, March 5th | 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM | Cafritz (Rm. 2740)

To prepare: Please prepare a 90 second monologue.

Callbacks:
After the first round of auditions, each show will host their own set of callbacks, with the director and a faculty liaison present. Each callback may require students to prepare additional materials. These requirements will be distributed to those who receive a callback.

Callbacks are currently TBD, but are tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, March 10, and Wednesday, March 11.

Eligibility Requirements:
In order to be eligible to audition for TDPS productions, students must meet the following criteria:

  1. Maintain a minimum overall GPA of 2.7
  2. Uphold the University Honor Code
  3. Be in good academic standing with the University

Callbacks are currently TBD, but are tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, March 10th, and Wednesday, March 11th.

Scripts: Scripts will be digital this year, and an invite to view will be sent out to all majors.
If you do not receive this invitiation by Wednesday, 2/18 please email Jenn Schwartz at jlschwar@umd.edu.

It is required to read the scripts before the initial audition.
