ABOUT THE EVENT

The Spring M.F.A Dance Thesis Concert showcases stunning and provocative choreography by M.F.A. candidates Kevin Clark, Mher Kandoyan and Kae Lawrence in the UMD School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies.

Inspired by his experiences as an Armenian and Lebanese artist, Mher's piece, “Journey,” delves into the interplay of joy and trauma, exploring themes of reclamation, resilience, healing and survival.

Kae's piece “In Search of Our Grandmothers' Gardens”, inspired by Alice Walker’s book, "In Search of Our Mothers’ Gardens”, encapsulates the identities and endurance of Black women.
