Pointless Theatre Company, founded by TDPS Alumni, Awarded John Aniello Award

March 02, 2014 School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies

Pointless Theatre Company was originally founded in the summer of 2009 by Patti Kalil (BA Theatre '10) and Matt Reckeweg (BA Theatre '05) as a group dedicated to performing innovative and exuberant puppet theatre.

Pointless Theatre Company, whose members include a large number of University of Maryland alumni, will be presented the 2014 John Aniello Award for Outstanding Emerging Theatre Company at the Helen Hayes awards this April. For more information about this announcement, please click here.

The John Aniello Award bears the name of the late theatre supporter, beloved for his encouragement of emerging talent and for fledgling theatre companies that continually bring new ideas and energy to the Washington theatre scene. The award recognizes groups that have shown great promise in their early years, and that have proven their lasting commitment with a body of work that is both groundbreaking and compelling.

Congratulations Founders and Members of Pointless Theatre Company!
