Students explore techniques of visual and theatrical storytelling in the final presentation for a course on devised work collaboration.
Devised Work Collaboration is a course that explores techniques of telling visual stories and the use of high style-low technical approaches to theatrical storytelling. Using mythological themes, students invent and explore different techniques of storytelling through design and performance. including scenery, costumes, lighting, projections, puppetry, movement, and performance. The focus of the course is on the cross-discipline exploration and discussion of design techniques as vehicles for storytelling.
In this showing of original work, students present the story of a young woman's journey through a forest after she has lost her mother in a terrible incident. She meets a variety of animals while fleeing from a mysterious figure who is hunting her down.
